Codes

How to use a RotaRound code at sign up or in Settings, what a code can give, and why a code might not work.

What it is#

A code is a short word, or a mix of capitals and numbers, that gives you something off RotaRound: free months, a percentage off for a number of months, or a set price for a number of months. Each business can use one code.

When to use it#

Use a code when you have been given one, for example in an email from us or at an event. Some codes are for new businesses and are entered when you sign up; others are for businesses already using RotaRound and are entered in Settings.

How to do it#

  1. At sign up, type the code in the Referral or partner code box on the sign up form. The page tells you what it gives before you create your account.
  2. After you have signed up, open Settings, choose Billing, type the code under Have a code? and press Apply.
  3. Billing then shows what the code gave you: the free months, or the price and how many payments it lasts.

What your customer sees#

Nothing. A code only changes what you pay RotaRound.

What happens next#

RotaRound emails you to say the code is applied. A discount ends after the number of payments it was for, and your price goes back to the standard price with no further notice.

Good to know#

  • If a code cannot be used, the box says "That code cannot be used. Check it, or leave the box empty." It gives the same answer whatever the reason: the code is not right, it is no longer available or not yet, it has expired or been used up, it is for new or for existing businesses only, or you have already used a code.
  • A free account pays nothing, so a code does not apply to it.
  • A code never raises your price. If you already pay less than a code would give, the code is not used.
  • If a code would take you past the most free months one account can hold (6), it is not used and you can try again later.
