Referring a business

What it is#

Every RotaRound business has its own referral link and code. When a business signs up through your link, or types your code when it signs up, it gets a free month as a longer trial. Once it has made its first payment and a hold of 14 days has passed, you get a free month.

When to use it#

Use it when you tell another business about RotaRound and you would both like free months.

How to do it#

Open Settings and choose Refer a business (in the Billing group).
Press Copy beside Your link or Your code, and send it to the business yourself. Or press Share by email to open your own email app with a message ready to send, or Share (on a phone or tablet) to send it by message. RotaRound sends nothing for you.
When they open your link, the sign up page welcomes them with your business name, fills in your code in the Referral or partner code box, and shows the code so they can type it in if they come back later. A business that types your code in itself sees "Referral code accepted" instead of your name.
Refer a business shows how many businesses joined through your link and how many free months you have earned, for example "3 businesses joined through your link. You've earned 2 free months."

What your customer sees#

Nothing. Referrals are between you, the business you refer and RotaRound.

What happens next#

When your reward is given, RotaRound emails you: "You've earned a free month". The email names the business that joined through your link. Before your first payment the reward makes your trial longer; after it, your next payment moves on by a whole month for each free month.

Good to know#

Your link is held only while they are on the site. Nothing is stored on their device, so if they come back later they type your code when they sign up.
A business is credited to one source only. If it opened a link in one of RotaRound's own emails, or scanned the code on something we posted to it, in the 90 days before it signed up, the sign up is ours and there is no referral reward for either of you.
Rewards are for real businesses that are not your own. If the business you referred shares your email domain, phone number, card, address or device, the reward is held, and we look at it and decide whether it is given.
A reward may be held while it is checked. If the new business's payment is refunded or charged back within 60 days, your reward is taken back.
A reward is not given if it would take you past the most free months one account can hold (6), or past 12 referral rewards in a year.
Rewards go only to open accounts. While your account is paused because the trial or a payment ended, or while it is closing or closed, a reward that falls due is not given.
