Create your RotaRound account, confirm your email, sign in with the emailed code and reset a forgotten password.

What it is#

Signing up creates your business and your own sign-in in one step. Your account starts with a two month free trial, and no card is needed. Every account is protected by a 6-digit sign-in code that is emailed to you when you sign in.

When to use it#

Use it once, when you first start with RotaRound. After that you sign in with your email, your password and the emailed code. If you forget your password, you set a new one from the sign-in screen.

How to do it#

  1. On the sign-in screen, press Create an account. The screen Create your account opens.
  2. Fill in your Trading name, your Email and a Password, then type it again in Confirm password. The password needs at least 10 characters, must not be a commonly used password and must not be your email address. The list under the box ticks each rule as you type.
  3. If you like, choose your trade under What kind of business?. It is optional and changes nothing in the app.
  4. Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The tick for product news is optional and unticked to start with.
  5. Press Create account. You are signed in and taken to the dashboard.
  6. Open the confirmation email RotaRound sends to your address and press the link. The page says Your email is confirmed. Press Continue to RotaRound. The link works for 24 hours. If it has run out, press Send a new link.
  7. Next time you sign in, enter your Email and Password and press Sign in. RotaRound emails you a 6-digit code. Type it into 6-digit code and press Sign in again.
  8. On your own phone or computer, tick Don't ask for a code on this device for 7 days before you press Sign in. That device then skips the code for 7 days.
  9. If you have forgotten your password, press Forgotten password? on the sign-in screen. Enter your Email and press Send reset link. Open the link in the email, fill in New password and Confirm new password, and press Set password.

What your customer sees#

Nothing. This is for you only.

What happens next#

You land on the dashboard with the Get started card, which lists the three things to do first: set up your account, add your team and add your customers.

The sign-in code works for 10 minutes, and only the newest code counts. If it does not arrive, press Send a new code. You can ask for another one a minute after the last.

The reset link works for 60 minutes. Setting a new password signs you out on every device, so you then sign in again with the new one.

Good to know#

  • New accounts start in automatic mode, Let the diary plan itself. You can change this in Settings under Scheduling before you add your customers.
  • Two-factor sign-in by email is on for every new account. You can turn it off, and see or remove your trusted devices, in Settings under Security and sign-in.
  • To change your password at any time, use Forgotten password? on the sign-in screen.
  • After ten wrong passwords in 15 minutes, sign-in is paused for 15 minutes.
  • If you are away from the app for a long time, you are signed out for safety and the sign-in screen tells you so.
