1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between pages and visits: that you are signed in, or that you already answered the cookie banner. First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting (rotaround.com). Third-party cookies are set by another company's service embedded in the site; the only third party we ever use is Google Analytics, and only with your consent.
2. Every cookie this site can set
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
rr_consent | rotaround.com (first party) | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again | Essential | 6 months |
rotaround.sid | rotaround.com (first party) | Keeps you signed in to the app. Set only when you sign in; never set by public pages | Essential | 30 days, extended each time you use the app |
rotaround.trust | rotaround.com (first party) | Remembers that this device already answered a two-factor code, so you are not asked again on it. Set only if you choose to be remembered | Essential | 7 days, never extended |
rr_access_unlocked | rotaround.com (first party) | For a customer of a business that uses RotaRound: remembers that you entered the emailed code, so you can read your access instructions without entering it again on every page | Essential | 30 minutes |
rr_admin and rr_admin_pending | rotaround.com (first party) | Sign in to the RotaRound operator pages. Only ever set for our own staff, and only on those pages | Essential | 8 hours, and 10 minutes |
_ga | Google Analytics (third party) | Distinguishes visitors | Analytics (consent only) | 2 years |
_ga_<container> | Google Analytics (third party) | Keeps session state for the specific measurement property | Analytics (consent only) | 2 years |
That is the complete list. There are no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels, and no fingerprinting.
3. How consent works here
On your first visit the banner at the bottom of the page asks whether analytics may run. Essential cookies always work; they are required for the site and app to function. Analytics is different: no Google Analytics code loads, and no analytics cookie exists, until you press Accept. Press Reject and it never loads. Accept and Reject are presented with equal weight.
4. Changing your choice
Press the button below to reopen the consent banner and change your decision at any time. Rejecting analytics never limits what the site or the app can do. You can also delete the rr_consent cookie in your browser, and the banner will ask again.
5. Browser controls
Every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies for any site (usually under Settings, then Privacy). Blocking the essential cookies will stop sign-in from working; blocking analytics cookies has no effect on the service.
