Quick buttons

The six buttons on the dashboard that start the jobs you do most often.

What it is#

The things you do most often should be one press away. The dashboard has six quick buttons, under Looking ahead, so you can start them without going through the menu.

When to use it#

Use them whenever you need to add work, add a customer, record that a team member is away, or download your invoices and pay.

How to do it#

The six buttons, in order:

  1. Create quote opens the add sheet as a quote, for work the customer has not agreed yet.
  2. Add a one-off job opens the add sheet for a single piece of work.
  3. Add a regular service opens the add sheet for work that repeats.
  4. Add team member absence asks Whose absence? and lists your active team members. Choose one to go to their absences, where you record the time away. With no team members yet, it asks you to add one first.
  5. Exports opens the Exports page, where you download visits to invoice and pay.
  6. Add a customer opens the new customer page.
The dashboard on a phone: the business figures in cards, one under another.

What your customer sees#

Nothing from the buttons themselves. What the customer sees depends on what you then add, such as a quote email or a booking email.

What happens next#

Each button takes you to the same place as its other ways in. The add sheet works the same whichever button opened it. The Exports page is the same page you reach from Settings.

Good to know#

  • On a phone the buttons sit in three rows of two. On a tablet they sit in two rows of three. On a wide screen all six sit in one row.
  • The Exports page is not in the main menu. This button is the quickest way to it.
  • In self mode ("I place visits myself"), a one-off job can be added to Waiting to be scheduled instead of letting the diary place it. In automatic mode ("Let the diary plan itself"), the diary places it for you.
