Drafts

Save a quote, job or service you have started and come back to it later from the Drafts page or the dashboard.

What it is#

A draft is an add sheet you have started but not finished: a quote, a one-off job or a regular service. Saving it as a draft keeps everything you have typed. It books nothing, sends nothing and does not create a customer.

When to use it#

Use it when you are interrupted, or when you are waiting on something before you can finish, such as the customer's address or a price you need to check.

How to do it#

  1. In the add sheet, press Save as draft at the bottom. If you close the sheet with changes, it asks Unsaved changes: press Save as draft, Discard or Keep editing.
  2. To find your drafts, press the dashboard card that reads drafts not finished (or 1 draft not finished). It shows only when you have at least one draft.
  3. The Drafts page lists each draft with the customer's name, or Untitled draft if there is none, what it is, and when it was last changed.
  4. Press Open to carry on. The sheet opens as you left it.
  5. Finish the sheet and press its main button, such as Add job or Send quote.
  6. To throw a draft away, press Delete, then Delete again to confirm. Press Keep it to change your mind.

What your customer sees#

Nothing. A draft is for you only. The customer hears nothing until you finish the sheet and send or agree the work.

What happens next#

When you add or send the work from a draft, the draft is deleted automatically. The work then behaves exactly as if you had filled in the sheet in one go. The team member sees nothing from a draft, only the visits once the finished work is placed.

A draft you delete cannot be brought back.

Good to know#

  • A draft does not hold a slot on the diary. Nothing is booked until you finish the sheet.
  • A draft for a new customer does not create that customer. They appear on the Customers page only once the work is added or sent.
  • Email drafts in the Mailbox are separate. They are emails you started writing, kept under Drafts in the Mailbox, and do not appear on this Drafts page.
  • Automatic mode and self mode make no difference to drafts. The mode matters only once the work is added.
